Photos: Yukon Blonde @ Lee's Palace
Canadian rockers Yukon Blonde performed at Lee's Palace for two sold out shows starting on Thursday, February 25th. I went on assignment for Edge 102.1 and was at night #1 of 2 for such a badass night of music! On June 12th, 2015 the band released their latest full-length album On Blonde and if you haven't had a chance to get into it... do it now. It made our 50 Best of 2015 list and goes down as one of the best Canadian releases last year (in my opinion).
The band captivated the Toronto audience with their own excitement having sold out two shows at Lee's. Frontman Jeffery Innes spoke countless times about how stoked the band was and how much he loves Toronto. It was great to see a band genuinely psyched to sell out a show.
I can't really explain how good the vibe was at this show, but you could feel it. I couldn't stop myself from moving and throwing my hands up for these dudes. They played perfectly and pretty much played anything you could have asked for if you're a longtime fan. I'm still feeling a buzz after this show. Yukon Blonde got me all hyped up. The band also takes the cake for best David Bowie tribute when they came out for an encore playing two fantastic renditions of "Suffragette City" & "Let's Dance" with the help of openers On an On.
