Upcoming: Canadian Music Week 2016
If there's one thing you can rely on in the midst of your longing for summer festival vibes, it's Canadian Music Week. It's a festival that everyone has come to love and has progressively gotten better every year.
This year we see that trend continuing with a wicked lineup featuring some rad artists. The big names on the bill are Tegan and Sara, Eagles of Death Metal, Skepta & X Ambassadors. When you sift through the underdogs there's actually some amazing artists that aren't getting the limelight that they deserve. How about Royal Wood? Such a great band. Or The Beaches and The Wet Secrets. Two more really great bands that you should make note of. But beyond the relatively unknown up-and-comers, there are huge names like Yngwie Malmseteen, Tosin Abasi (of Animals As Leaders), and Steve Vai. If you're a fan of guitar players, then you know those three names and know how important they are to guitar driven music.
In short, the lineup is stacked and there's something for everyone. The artists that we're looking forward to most are The Strumbellas, Wintersleep, Wild Nothing, Dilly Dally, White Lung, and lastly (our #1) D.R.A.M.
Just listen to their song "Cha Cha" below and get hyped. Those summer vibes tho.
