Looking back at Solange in 2013 at Danforth Music Hall

Solange Knowles recently surprised the world with a banger of a new album entitled When I Get Home last Friday night at midnight. This is the first new music we’ve been blessed with from the critically acclaimed singer and sister of Queen B, since her 2016 release A Seat At The Table.

I thought it was about time we dug deep in the archives and revisit our photos of her stellar performance at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall back in 2013. At the time of the tour, her single called “Losing You” was garnering a lot of attention and got me hooked on her new-age sound.

Fast forward to 2016 and she dropped one of the year’s best albums and got me hooked on her tracks Cranes in The Sky and F.U.B.U. Now, I’m fully in love with this new record of hers almost instantaneously. It’s hypnotic, with deep grooves that pull me in and out ebbing and flowing through every track.
