Photos of Pond and Fazerdaze at The Danforth Music Hall: A Psychedelic Night in Toronto

Western Australian psych-rockers Pond took over The Danforth Music Hall with a mind-bending set that proved why they’ve been at the forefront of the genre for over a decade. Frontman Nicholas Allbrook was a whirlwind of energy, spinning and leaping across the stage with chaotic charisma. At the same time, the band delivered a tight, electrifying performance featuring tracks from their latest album, Stung!

Each member brought something unique to the performance. Guitarist Jay Watson transitioned effortlessly between instruments—one moment commanding the keys, the next shredding on guitar, and even taking a turn behind the drum kit. Shiny Joe Ryan added his signature psychedelic flair, weaving trippy guitar lines and harmonies that transported the crowd. Jamie Terry held it down on bass and keys, delivering grooves that hit you right in the chest, while James Ireland’s drumming added a driving intensity that anchored the band’s wild energy. Together, the band created a sonic kaleidoscope that had the audience dancing and losing themselves in the moment.

Opening the night, New Zealand’s Fazerdaze enveloped The Danforth Music Hall with looping synths and ambient beats and offered fans a stripped-down, intimate set that packed an emotional punch. Amelia Rahayu Murray, joined by guitarist Dave Rowlands, delivered unique renditions of her tracks that felt tailor-made for the room. Murray noted that they had left their full band behind due to touring costs. Songs from her latest record, Soft Power, shone in this minimalistic setup, with dreamy synth textures creating an atmospheric backdrop for Murray’s vocals.

Pond once again demonstrated why they are legends in the psych-rock world, delivering an incredible live show. Paired with Fazerdaze’s captivating opening performance, it was a night that reminded everyone why live music is unparalleled. Check out all the concert photos from the night below.
