Photos: Underoath, Bring Me The Horizon at Ricoh Coliseum

On Wednesday night, Bring Me The Horizon's American Nightmare Tour made a stop at Toronto's Ricoh Coliseum with an epic audio-visual performance. The Sheffield rock band was the night's big draw to the not so frequented Ricoh Coliseum (for concerts), but the tour also featured Christian metalcore heavyweights Underoath and opener Beartooth, which did not disappoint with their performances.

Going into this show I knew it was going to be a pretty hard gig to photograph. Both Beartooth and Underoath play with big strobes and are always moving on the stage. That combined with low light, always makes it a challenge but surprisingly, I snagged some pretty slick shots of Underoath with my new fisheye lens (I missed Beartooths set).

Bring Me The Horizon's set was the most important to capture and definitely the most epic stage production that I've seen in a while. It's the same setup as their Sempiternal tour, with a massive multi-layered platform and video screens, but updated with a lot more confetti and visual graphics that were breathtaking. The band is notorious for back-lighting because of their visual graphics but surprisingly they had decent light all around. I shot the majority of the show with my brand new Fisheye (DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED) and my trusty Telephoto (AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II).

You can check out all my shots from the night below. If you photographed the show, link me your photos in the comments. Love seeing all the other perspectives out there.
